Ooh la la – fun stuff today! In all of the craziness this summer, I never got around to showing you pictures from all of these amazing weddings. I’m still waiting on some, but I’ve gotten bunches of adorable ones, and I’m sooo excited to share them. I mean, let’s face it, if you’ve recently planned a wedding and then gone into the wedding industry, your eyes have maybe glazed over and then eventually fused shut to wedding photos in general. There are just SO MANY wedding pictures online. But I always, ALWAYS cry when I see pictures of my brides. First of all, they are always so gorgeous. Second, they are always so happy. That’s my favorite part – seeing them so in love and just bursting with complete joy. I’m just so humbled and moved. Every. Single. Time. I mean, look at these cutie pies!
I want to jump into this photo, knock them both off of the bike and squeeze those cheeks silly. It sounds very aggressive, but it’s exactly what I’m picturing in my head. So. Look out or something.
So cute and so fun. And doesn’t that dress just come to life on Sylvia? I mean, it looked good on the hanger and everything, but that’s nothing compared to the girl. She owned it. Case in point:
MOVIE STAR. Congratulations, Sylvia and Ryan! You are both adorable and I recommend locking your doors at night, ’cause I’m coming to squeeze and kiss you both in your sleep.

Umm … so I’ve been wearing a brace on my wrist on and off all week, ’cause it’s been really (REALLY) sore, and I just now took the brace off and … something is … not good. Like, that weird giant bump was not there this morning. Good thing I’m going to the doctor in two hours. Anyway, that’s not why I started this post, but holy cow please send some major positive voodoo whatever or something, because I need my right hand right now. Moving on to much more fun stuff …
Someone’s getting married this weekend! Her name starts with an ‘S’ ends in an ‘A’ and the middle part will be wearing this adorable thing:
I can’t wait to show you pics of Sylvia all dressed up. Errybody start swoonin’.
And praying for my wrist.
Somebody’s dress is getting pretty fancy!
Isn’t this just the sweetest? I can’t wait to finish it up and ship it away to Hawaii! I also cannot wait for this weekend to start. I have no idea why – I’ll be working the entire time – but it’s still the weekend and that means I can stay up as late as I want. Stay up working anyway. Working and drinking. Heh heh heh. This week has been a strange one. Like, the other day I locked myself out of my car with my purse, credit card, key and phone displayed all over the front seat and no less than four strangers came to my rescue. A cabbie even went and bought me a “slim jim” so I could break in – amazing, right?! Anyway, it’s been kind of like that all week – half frustrating/half awesome and generally pretty weird. If the weird and awesome stuff keeps coming, it will make for a spectacular weekend. Even if it’s spent entirely behind a sewing machine.
Oh! I just remembered I never showed you pictures of this wedding dress, which I made for one of the sweetest brides on Earth. Seriously. Katie was nothing but adorable and sweet throughout the entire process (not to mention her adorable and sweet mom and grandmother). For the record, every bride I’ve worked with has been lovely – I’m very lucky – but Katie was overwhelmingly so and I really loved making this dress for her.
She came to me with a few definite ideas: a halter with a cummerbund, a 1950’s silhouette, accents in pale green (to match her green sapphire engagement ring) and YELLOW. Okay, I have to admit, the green AND yellow terrified me – I had no idea what to do with that (aside from a circus theme). But I sketched a few things out, and after meeting her, I knew this dress was going to be AWESOME. This is what we came up with:
In order to get the perfect green, I hand-painted every single leaf and then hand-stitched them to white flower appliques and little tufts of tulle. And here’s the cutie pie wearing it on her wedding day:
And check out her adorable husband in his suit and the yellow tie – love it. Congratulations, you two!
