I don’t know about all of you tootsies, but my allergies are murdering me this week. It’s so hard to focus on work when all I want to do is turn my head inside out and run into traffic. It’s also a billion degrees outside, which, whatever. I can deal with that. But I do sort of struggle with my wardrobe when it’s this hot. Like, do I wear my regular clothes and be sweaty and gross, or do I dress comfortably and look like a ho? Toeing the line, my friends. At least the studio is air-conditioned. For real – I have air-conditioning, coffee cake and wine, people. Why aren’t you here right now?
Oh and there’s also this:
A closer (actual) look at Jen’s embellished gown. Man, I wasn’t joking when I said I was in a rush on Monday. Why did I post a completely indecipherable photo of … whatever? Sorry ’bout that. Anyway, this is what I’m actually doing, aaaannnd I think it’s pretty rad. Jen came to me for two reasons: 1) her twin sister wore this dress when she was married, so it needed to be personalized for sweet li’l Jen; and 2) the ceremony is going to be in a very old-fashioned church, which requires her back and shoulders be covered. Oh and 3) there’s a giant beer stain on the front of the skirt – I’ll get to that later. Jen is crazy about lace-backed dresses, so we decided to create a new back and sleeves in lace and then attach that to the original halter. I still have some finishing to do around the edges, but I’m really happy with it so far. The buttons, in particular, are breaking my heart all over the place. The skirt is also breaking my heart, but in an entirely different way. I’ve got some fun ideas though – will let you know how it goes!

Oh, gorgeous!
twins sharing a wedding dress, LOVE!!!
maybe Val and I will do this one day!!
can’t wait to see the final look.
I assume you’ve considered just pouring more beer all over the dress? More beer seems to help the situation… never.
I HAVE. Considered it, I mean.
