So I got the floor painted without too much trouble. Although I knew it was unlikely, I was hoping one coat would do it. Then I thought two coats, no problem. No doubt three would absolutely be enough. And when I realized I needed four, I threw my hands up in the air, said something like “screw this,” punched myself in the head and called it a
day weekend. It is a workshop after all, I mean, whatever. I had to move on with my life at some point. So I went home and made these:
These are actual pictures of my space with lots of fun stuff Photoshopped on top (and only one coat of paint on the floor). I really wish I could Photoshop something and then it would magically appear. Cause I really want all of that stuff, but dang, that’s a lot of work. And money. Anyway, stuff is coming along, yo.
Speaking of … I had a fitting yesterday with adorable Sylvia. We were checking the fit of her foundation and length and size of her crinoline …
… which looks awesome. I’ve really got a thing for crinolines, you guys. I don’t know what it is, but I find them to be so satisfying. I want to murder everyone while I’m sewing them, but I love the way they come together. They are CUTE. And the foundation is also fantastic, but I can’t really show it. Panties on Parade and all that.
Last night, Keith and I went to see Moonrise Kingdom (which was about the sweetest thing ever), and instead of going to dinner afterward, we took a five mile walk around our neighborhood. We don’t have a yard or balcony, so we always end up going to dinner just to sit outside somewhere. The walk was awesome – I hope we do that all of the time now. Since I started working from home, there have been almost entire weeks when I’ve never left the house. That’s really bad, you guys. My body has changed so much in the last 18 months – I feel like my spine has fused and my muscles have atrophied altogether. I walked to the studio on Saturday, to put another coat of paint on the floor, and it was so calming and energizing at the same time. Imma do that all the time now. Yay for walking!
And today, my dad is driving his van into the city to help me pick up my new sofa and move some of the larger stuff into the space. Yay for dads!
