Custom Gown for Erin

Okay, so I have a custom gown due in two weeks – it’s a super special project for me, and I’m SO EXCITED that I finally get to devote some real time to it, because . . . it’s due in two weeks.  Just kidding.  I mean, no, that is accurate, but the project itself is so incredibly awesome.  Check it:

Tiered, lace-trimmed silk voile.  Can you stand it?!  I love it so much.  I love staring at it on the dress form while I type this – it looks so gorgeous.  And I love the lady who will wear it next month in her wedding – my sweet friend, Erin.  We go waaaay back to high school, when she had a nose-piercing and I was wearing floral bell-bottoms (it was the mid-90s) and with our other awesome friend Stacey, we would hang out with the cute burn-outs and sneak cigarettes at an Alanis Morissette concert (I told you, it was the ’90s!) and try to pull people over on country roads with a car alarm.  We were so COOL.  Wah wah.  And now she’s marrying the most amazing guy, and I could not be happier for her.  I can’t wait to put the finishing touches on her gown (I’m working on the skirt now) and send this off to her.  I can’t wait to see her get married in it. !!  And I can’t wait to dance at her wedding.  I really am fortunate.  I get to do the coolest things.
