Ooh la la – more paint chips! Bet you didn’t see that coming, eh? When will it end?! Don’t worry, dudes, this one is pretty adorable. And very handy if you’re throwing a backyard housewarming party and the heat index is around 115 degrees, much like today. And . . . my wedding day. I keep thinking about how freaking unbearable the heat was the day we got married. I can’t believe we were standing in a field in a giant ruffled dress and full-length veil and wool tuxedo in this heat. And our poor wedding party and guests! It makes me feel for the men and women getting married this weekend. Maybe someone should make them some of these hand fans . . .
MATERIALS
- Paint chip
- Card stock – cut down to 5.063 x 6″
- Wooden craft sticks
- Rubber cement
- Computer
- Inkjet printer
- Scissors
INSTRUCTIONS
Design your fan using any basic computer program (Word, Powerpoint, etc) – we went with the housewarming theme and used the address of our fake new home – and print (front side onto the paint chip, back side onto the card stock) using an inkjet printer. Using rubber cement, glue one craft stick to the bottom back of your paint chip. Brush rubber cement over the entire backside and attach the card stock, wrong sides together. Use scissors to trim the card stock edges.
See? Cute. And easy. And cheap. And fun. And they work. Also, I’ve never been to an open house or anything, but I kinda think these would be really cute for any of you realtors out there. With the address and your contact info? I would buy a house from you. And I could afford it, because I saved so much money on my hand fans.

What a fabulous idea! Fans are such a nifty party favor, and I know how much I appreciate them on a hot day…good thinking
That is a fantastic idea for a wedding favour! This would be perfect for my friend she is so crafty i’m sure she would love the idea being in the UK all we would need is the hot weather!!!
You are so awesome for thinking of this!! My two favorite things put together: color and ease!
