I had the crazy idea (and trust me, I know it was crazy) to print our invitations on 11 x 17″ paper and then fold them into their own envelope shapes. So old-fashioned right? Nobody does that! So original! So fun! So arthritis-inducing.
I really thought it would be awesome though, so I plowed ahead, and fortunately it wasn’t too bad once I got into the groove. 90 invitations later, my hands are still working. Here’s our giant invitation before:
And here it is folded and sealed – ready to be stamped and mailed:
I used the Fern letter folding technique and sealed the back with fancy masking tape. The pink stickers were an afterthought – Keith joked that some people might use a letter opener, which would of course cut right into the invitation. My paranoia led to stickers printed with instructions, which are pretty darn cute, I think.
A gigantic project all wrapped up and ready to go! I can’t wait to get these out in the mail. And soon Keith’s family will know just how completely bonkers I really am.

Damn grrrrrrrrrrrl those are tight
Again, DUDE! LOVE this.
did you print the invitations yourself on your home printer, or you had them printed somewhere?
i’m in the planning stages of trying to figure out how to do my own invitations. i’m not sure if i should print them at home or go to a copy shop or what.
thanks!
I printed one of the inserts, but I had everything else done through print shops. I would have printed the invites at home, but my printer won’t hold that gigantic 11 x 17″ paper!
Oh, my. I adore those!
I love the retro style and the feeling of pronouncement – a very pretty “Ta-Da!”
I’m new to your blog and I’m enjoying your projects very much. (Oh, and of course, I put in a vote. Fingers-crossed for you.)
